ALDI Nord and ALDI SÜD have introduced a new cross-retailer seal of origin, "Good from German Agriculture," to increase transparency and strengthen domestic food production.
The new label is now visible on fresh meat, dairy, fruits, and vegetables. Products already carrying the label include milk, yogurt, apples, berries, lettuce, mushrooms, potatoes, tomatoes, and cucumbers. ALDI is expanding the range weekly.
The seal allows customers to easily identify products from German farms. The initiative supports local producers while offering clearer food origin information in stores nationwide.
According to ALDI, 100% of its own-brand drinking milk comes from German origin and from higher-quality animal husbandry systems 3, 4, and 5. Additionally, all conventional fresh pork is sourced entirely from Germany.
During the local season, strawberries and white asparagus are also exclusively sourced from German farms.
The "Good from German Agriculture" seal was initiated by the Central Coordination of Trade and Agriculture (Zentrale Koordination Handel-Agrar e.V.). ALDI supports this move while continuing to promote regionality in sourcing.
ALDI SÜD currently offers over 350 items throughout the year with the “Regional Window” indicator. The new origin label adds another layer of clarity for customers.
