The Asda has revised its family leave policies and provided additional support to all the 140,000 colleagues in the UK.

The new policies involve extending the paid maternity, adoption and paternity leave, as well as introducing protection to the kinship carers and loss of any pregnancy.

Asda has spent 80 million in promoting the wages of the ones based in stores by the hour.

Paternity and adoption leave among the hourly-paid colleagues has increased to 26 weeks on full pay of the company. Paternity leave has been raised to four weeks, and secondary kinship carers are also entitles.

A new law of primary kinship carers awards 26 weeks of Parental Leave.

Asda has also increased the leave of its colleagues who lose their pregnancy prior to the 24 weeks giving two weeks of paid off.

These are accompanied by the implementation of the neonatal care leave policy introduced in November 2024 at Asda that offers 12 weeks of paid leave in case the newborn needs the services of the neonatal care department at least for seven full days.

According to the retailer, the following improvements are to provide more flexibility, sympathy, and inclusivity throughout some of the milestones of family life.

The family leave benefits in Asda demonstrate the continued efforts of the supermarket to extend workplace benefits and policy change.
