Merchant Alexander Kemper opens new EDEKA supermarket in Wesselburen on July 17.
Located at Bahnhofstrasse 20b, the 1,400-square-meter store features a modern layout with fresh food, regional products, and sustainable energy systems.
Fresh food, regional products, modern store
The store offers around 20,000 items. The fresh counters include meat, sausage, and cheese with expert service. Regional organic beef is a core feature, along with produce and flowers from nearby farms in Dithmarschen.
An in-house bakery sits in the pre-checkout zone with twelve seating areas for customers.
The store is open Monday to Saturday from 7 a.m. to 8 p.m. and operated by a team of 40 employees and five trainees.
Energy-efficient and sustainable design
EDEKA Kemper uses LED lighting, heat recovery, and glass refrigeration systems. A rooftop solar array supplies electricity. The store also features eco-friendly wall design using corrugated cardboard.
Free Wi-Fi and seven checkouts improve customer experience.
Commitment to local community
The store supports the local food bank and works with several regional groups, including the trade association, Round Table, and rural youth programs.
