Lidl GB has announced a Lidl chicken product recall for its Red Hen 4 Tempura Chicken Steaks after finding the label does not clearly emphasise milk in bold within the ingredients list.

The recall, announced on 1 August, covers all 380g packs of the product with best before dates of 11 and 16 December 2026, 22 and 30 December 2026, and 16 January 2027.

The supermarket confirmed that the oversight poses a potential health risk to customers with an allergy or intolerance to milk or milk constituents. No other Red Hen products sold in Lidl GB stores are affected.

Point-of-sale notices have been placed in all Lidl GB branches to alert customers to the recall. Shoppers are advised not to consume the affected product and to return it to the store for a full refund.

Lidl has provided contact details for customers seeking further information via customer.care@lidl.co.uk or 0203 966 5566.

The Lidl chicken product recall comes amid a series of recent allergen-related withdrawals across major UK supermarkets.
