The UK Government has launched a new national initiative called Good Food Cycle, designed to help families to bloom and strengthen the country's food system. Sainsbury's good food cycle support was confirmed July 15, 2025 as part of the official announcement.

Sainsbury’s is the only retailer on the Government’s Food Strategy Advisory Board. The company’s CEO, Simon Roberts, outlined its role in helping to deliver healthier, more sustainable and accessible food across the UK.

The goal of the good food cycle is to unite the government and industry's efforts to create a flexible national food model. According to the announcement, the program will prioritize nutritious food, innovation in the future and long -term access to permanent supply chains.

As part of the initiative, Sainsbury's Good Food Cycle supports a strategy for support and active participation in contributing to national dialogue on food flexibility, health and economic development.

The initiative was developed in response to continuous pressure on the UK's food system. The good food cycle is now distributed as a step in coordination of collaboration across the sector with a shared goal of long -term impact.

Participation from Sainsbury's good food cycle emphasizes a dealer's role in supporting food policy, family good and economic development through their position in the advisory board.
