Sainsbury’s announces leadership changes across retail, technology, and sustainability to support its Next Level strategy.

Sainsbury has announced a major switching of the operating board, and unveiled new leadership roles in retail, technology, commercial and stability tasks. With new agreements from September and October 2025, the goal is to quickly track your next level strategy.

New Chief Retail, Logistics and Supply Chain Officer

Tracey Clements will join the Operating Board on 3 September 2025 in a newly created role as Chief Retail, Logistics and Supply Chain Officer. His appointment units retail, digital, customer experience, supply chain and logistics under a management.

Clements brings extensive retail experiences, which earned earlier in Tesco, Boots UK and Ireland, and recently BP, where he was senior vice president of Mobility and Facility Europe.

Technology, Data and Marketing Unified

From 1 September, Mark Given will take over Operating Board leadership for technology. His new role as Chief Technology, Marketing and Data Officer reflects the growing importance of AI, data insights and engineering in Sainsbury’s strategic direction.

Rob Barnes will also join in October as Chief Technology Officer, reporting to Given. He brings technology leadership experience from roles at Asda and M&S.

Commercial and Sustainability Functions Aligned

Sainsbury’s has expanded the role of Rhian Bartlett, who will now serve as head of commercial and stability. This decision brings together commercial activities with stability agenda, and strengthens the company's plan for source, reduction in carbon and better obligations in health initiatives.

Argos Leadership and Strategy Transition

Argos Transformation and Retail Teams will now report directly to Graham Biggart, CEO of Argos and Chief Strategy Officer. Reorganization is designed to speed up the attention of "more Argos, more often" change plan, which has already shown early signs of development and improves digital performance.

Biggart will continue to lead the group's strategy, while their previous responsibility for the supply chain and logistics will be converted to Tracy Clement.

Sainsbury's leadership changes have been distributed as an important step in providing long -term value, supporting environmental goals and improving customer service at speed.

The company confirmed that all leadership transitions are scheduled to begin from September 2025, which is expected to have complete integration into the following quarter.

Changes in the management of Sainsbury mark a strategic repetition of main functions to support its change plan and strengthen the company's long -term development preferences.
