Tesco announces 400 new jobs in Ireland as part of a €40 million investment programme. The retailer confirmed the roles will be created through the opening of 10 new stores across the country over the next 12 months.

The move will increase Tesco Ireland’s total permanent workforce to over 13,500 colleagues. The new stores will include both larger supermarkets and smaller Express formats, expanding Tesco’s national presence to 193 locations.

Among the new roles, Tesco will recruit Customer Assistants, Grocery Home Delivery drivers, and Line Managers. One hundred of the 400 new jobs will be created at the new Fermoy store in County Cork, scheduled to open at the end of July.

New Tesco stores are also set to open in Dublin, Galway, Louth, and Meath. Recruitment for locations including the M1 Retail Park and Howth is expected to begin in autumn.

Tesco colleagues receive a range of benefits. These include a free virtual GP service, a 24/7 employee assistance programme, free life assurance, and a company pension scheme. Eligible colleagues can also access a bonus scheme.

Additional benefits include Tesco’s Colleague Clubcard programme, offering a 10% discount on groceries year-round. On one weekend each month, this increases to 15%. Colleagues also receive a permanent 20% discount on F&F clothing.
